My Mission
I love working with business owners. Maybe it’s because I grew up in a small business. My parents were true entrepreneurs—they owned a jewelry store, a furniture and appliance shop, rental homes, and even a goat farm.
My dad is a brilliant businessman. He understands his craft like no one else—but he doesn’t know how to send an email. Does that make him an incompetent business owner? Absolutely not. It means he needs someone to help him in the areas where he's not as strong.
Watching my parents in their business, I learned that passion and hard work are just part of a successful business. Every business also needs systems and support to ensure it’s sustainable and successful.
That’s where I come in.
I am passionate about partnering with visionary business owners who want to focus on their growth while I help them take control of their finances. I bring my love of organization, numbers, and spreadsheets to help create a business that works for you, not the other way around.
My Journey
For most of my professional life, my focus has been my kids. My husband and I chose a unique schooling approach for them—part-time in class, part-time at home. It allowed me to be deeply involved in their education, which I will always cherish. But I firmly believe the best is yet to come.
I grew up working in my parents' small businesses and skipped the typical food service jobs in college. Instead, I worked as an office manager for a furniture store and leased apartments before starting my career in local TV. I worked as an Executive Producer at KFDA-TV in Amarillo, Texas, and then as the Producer of Healthstyles at Ozarks Public Television in Springfield, Missouri.
When I left my career in TV to stay home with my kids, I launched my first business as a writer. I was published on hundreds of websites and even in magazines like PoolPro and SpaRetailer. That led me to The Get Smart Group, where I am now the Chief Operating Officer of a thriving marketing agency. Over the past decade, I have worked in nearly every marketing role, gaining deep expertise in customer journeys, sales processes, and business strategy.
My ideal client is a visionary business owner who has a lot to do—and finances are just one piece of the puzzle.
They love their business, they care about their employees, and they frequently put their team ahead of themselves.
They have a clear vision for the future but know they need to shore up the foundation to make it happen.

A turning point in my career was when I transitioned from interviewing experts to being the expert in PoolPro and SpaRetailer magazines. I’ve spoken at the International PSP/Deck Expo in Las Vegas (2023), the International PSP/Deck Expo in Dallas (2024), and the Southeast Pool & Spa Show in Nashville (2025).
Fun Facts About Me
I took up grilling in 2020, and now my back patio is filled with a smoker, a griddle, and a pizza oven. Cooking outside is my happy place.
I am a high-energy, direct, and no-nonsense leader. I cut through the clutter to get to the root of a problem.
I love collaborating with teams and building strong relationships. In fact, I’ve taken the StrengthsFinder test on three different occasions and the only strength to show up in my Top 5 all three times is Relator.
I live in Springfield, Missouri, but I am available for speaking engagements and workshops across the US.
